Trip to University of Kent
On wednesday the 14th of January me and the rest of my media class went to the University of kent. We went to the school of arts. When split into two different groups we went to do some activities. The first activity was to make a short film which included a lost soul, merciless stranger and a blinding. The catch was that we weren't allowed to edit so we had to make sure we had no outtakes.
The next thing that we did was to have a talk on screenwriting. In this we looked at what the Coen brothers wrote they included films such as 'Fargo' and 'Barton Fink'. We then got into pairs and had a go at screenwriting for a twisted fairytale, we chose to re-write 'Goldielocks'.
After this we went to watch one of the students 'short film' this particular one was on Busking. Following this we moved on to a seminar looking at horror genre we looked at the verity that you can have in one chosen genre. My group and I felt this was a very useful activity as it gave an insight for the type of stereotypical things we should be aiming to put into our film start.
